AP Art

This past 2 weeks, i've really been getting into still lifes. I honestly love drawing them and putting the pieces into your own perspective. Such as making the certain object bigger, smaller, up close view and so fourth. I've always been decent at copying still lifes in Mrs. Bjorks class and turning them into my own perspective so this past week i made my own and they turned out to be really impressive. Im so excited for school to start so i can really get into new art and work with other types of utensils. This summer has gone by so fast and im sad its coming to an end but this year will be a good challenge for me and im really excited! Im trying to post all my photos to flickr right now :P

4Rt!

This summer has gone by so fast! its crazzzyyy! So as i've been looking at the art sites and really trying to figure out what portfolio i wanted to do, alot of online work has inspired me. I wish I had the media and all the utensils im sure my other classmates had but from what i've looked at and done, im gonna need lots and lots of practice!

Nauvoo Trip

About a week ago I got the opportunity to go to Nauvoo, IL to spend 5 days there to explore the town were the pinoneers once were. This was a church trip and it was just an amazing experience. They had many paintings in the building where we toured and lots of them inspired me. One picture I took really inspired me because of the stroke of the pen they used. Its a very detailed piece and the stroke marks are left there. The work ive been doing lately is furniture. There was lots of olden time furniture like fire places, beds, cabnets, old jails and so fourth in Nauvoo and I had some time to sketch what i saw and take pictures so I could go back to my work.

As I was looking through the site, http://portalwisconsin.org/, there was many artists pieces that really appealed to me. The one artist that really stuck out to me was, Sherry Ackerman. This painting she did was with water color and she named it, My Iris' View of Irises. I learned that there can be so much depth with watercolor and paintings really do look phenomenal when using water color and thats one thing i've really been into this summer. Another thing I learned was from the gallery, I looked at the mixed media and this artist, Lori Chilefone made this crazy cool piece. I learned that you can combine so many ideas into a piece and make it look different and unique. Love this site!

AP Art Blog

Wow has it been a hecktic summer! I've already been to 3 camps this summer and my fourth this coming wensday! This past June I got to go to Idaho, we drove there and I felt like it was the longest time of my life! It was so beautiful going through Wyoming and seeing all the beautiful mountains. I took many many pictures and I also attemped to draw one of the Mormon temples out in Rexburg, ID. Its such a beautiful place there. Im still trying to figure out how to add photos and work this blog so bare with me!

As i was looking throught this website, http://www.artandwriting.org/ArtWriteNow, there were many paintings that caught my eye. As i was going through the paintings, I noticed that kids from all ages put there work on this site for everyone to see. The one that really put me into amazement was, Robbie Billings. He is and won an American Visions Medal in 2010. The one thing I learned off this site was that teens from 7 through 12 grade from 45 states and 6 countries produced work in the national exhibition in 2010, showcased more than 600 visual and literary work! Another artist that caught my eye was Juyon Lee He is Age: 14 and in Grade: 8... His art inspired me so much becasue of how young of an age she is and how amazing she made her piece. There is so much going on that its almost destracting but also really creative. I love how she put photographers in this piece putting Mona Lisa as the center point and pointing out that she is the main focus of this piece.
